Our new Single of the Week isDay Wave (aka Jackson Phillips) and Hazel English new version of the Interpol classic "PDA".
About the cover Wave explains: "I remember first hearing 'Turn On The Bright Lights' when I was 14. I was blown away. And for me the immediate stand out was 'PDA'. I've been playing the song on repeat ever since. I never thought of attempting to cover it until recently, it was almost too important to me. But having been so influential for me, I thought it would be cool to pay homage to the album."
Hazel English adds: "Listening to Interpol really takes me back to my teenage years and I had a really fun time covering 'PDA' with Day Wave."
London-based britpop/lo-fi band Sleepovers have dropped the video for their brand new single "Good Sides".
About the track, band member Alfie, explains: "'Good Sides' tells the story of the beginning of that process when I was trying to move on. The band was kicking into gear, so was the partying, we all got new jobs and you can hear it in the sound."
"It's been captured through the last year of my camera roll for the video, all the ups and downs and this ep was its soundtrack. We chose to use the camera roll idea because although there may be a few bad photos you never capture a negative moment or put it on Instagram if you’re fighting or miserable, only the good sides make the story.’"
Russian dream pop/shoegaze band Pinkshinyultrablast have released their brand new single "In The Hanging Gardens".
The song is taken from their upcoming third studio album ‘Miserable Miracles’, due for release on May 4th via Club AC30 (UK) and Shelflife (USA).
On ‘In The Hanging Gardens’ delicate vocals soar effortlessly above a haunting ambience and ethereal embellishments are complimented by a driven beat. It’s the perfect track to showcase the band’s new, more electronic direction and while retaining their signature quirkiness, there’s another layer of experimentation here.
Welsh rock trio Manic Street Preachers have announced the release of their 13th studio album titled 'Resistance Is Futile'.
The follow-up to 2014's acclaimed LP Futurology, was recorded at the band’s new recording studios in Newport, and will be released on 6th April 2018 via Columbia/Sony.
A statement by the band reads: "The main themes of 'Resistance is Futile' are memory and loss; forgotten history; confused reality and art as a hiding place and inspiration.
"It's obsessively melodic - in many ways referencing both the naive energy of 'Generation Terrorists' and the orchestral sweep of 'Everything Must Go'. After delay and difficulties getting started, the record has come together really quickly over the last few months through a surge of creativity and some old school hard work."

South London post punk/indie rock band Shame have announced the release of their debut full-length album titled 'Songs Of Praise'.
The 10-track record will be out on January 12th via Dead Oceans. Pre-order your copy here.
Comprised of vocalist Charlie Steen, guitarists Sean Coyle-Smith and Eddie Green, bassist John Finerty, and drummer Charlie Forbes, they began as school boys. From the outset, Shame built the band up from a foundation of DIY ethos while citing The Fall and Wire among its biggest musical influences.
Utilizing both the grit and sincerity of that musical background, Shame carved out a niche in the South London music scene and then barreled fearlessly into the angular, thrashing post-punk that would go on to make up Songs of Praise, their Dead Oceans debut. From “Gold Hole,” a tongue-in-cheek takedown of rock narcissism, to lead single “Concrete” detailing the overwhelming moment of realizing a relationship is doomed, to the frustrated “Tasteless” taking aim at the monotony of people droning through their day-to-day, Songs of Praise never pauses to catch its breath.
The band have also aired the video for the album track "One Rizla". Watch it below the tracklist.
Songs Of Praise track list:
01. Dust On Trial
03. One Rizla
04. The Lick

American rock legends Toto have announced the release of their brand new Greatest Hits package titled 40 Trips Around The Sun, featuring three previously unreleased songs.
The 17 track album will be out on February 9th worldwide via Legacy Recordings (a division of Sony Music), and includes 3 previously unreleased recordings: “Spanish Sea”, “Alone” and “Struck By Lightning” alongside newly remastered classic tracks worked on by Elliot Scheiner & Gavin Lurssen and his team. The core Toto members, Steve Lukather, David Paich, Steve Porcaro, Joseph Williams re-entered the studio earlier this year to work on this release.
While going through the Sony vaults, the band uncovered several unfinished tracks that featured both Jeff and Mike Porcaro, one of which is now “Spanish Sea.” “This track is originally from the Isolation sessions,” Steve Lukather commented. “It’s one that didn't make it and we had to re-write it including creating a new chorus.
“Alone is a brand new song,” Lukather remarked. “This one was written with just the four of us really writing together and no one else in the room with us. We wanted to start with an ‘up’ song in terms of groove for the album. The lyric is darker but we are older guys now ands have lived life. The good, bad and ugly... we have lived it all and in the end we are all alone anyway. Proud of this piece and it just sort of organically happened.”

Los Angeles rock n' roll band Starcrawler have announced the released of their self-titled debut album.
Recorded by Ryan Adams on analog tape at his Pax-Am studio, the 10 songs on the album prove that yes, they ARE making rock and roll exciting again. It will be released on January 19th, 2018 via on Rough Trade Records.
Starcrawler formed in 2015 when 18-year-old lead vocalist Arrow de Wilde first met guitarist Henri Cash at their Echo Park high school. Shortly thereafter they were joined by the rhythm section of Austin Smith (drums) and Tim Franco (bass). The foursome play with squalling riffs and thundering beats, and their incendiary live shows, fronted by de Wilde’s otherworldly magnetism, are truly captivating.
Geoff Travis, founder of Rough Trade, explains the label’s love for the band: “If you thought rock and roll was moribund, had lost its sense of fun and performance and primal power – it just means you haven’t seen Starcrawler yet.”
The band have also aired the video for their new single "I Love LA", directed by Autumn de Wilde.
