New Entry: Winter Unveil New Single "Someone Like You"

L.A. based shoegaze/dream pop band Winter have unveiled their new catchy single "Someone Like You".

The song is taken from their upcoming debut album 'Supreme Blue Dream', due out next Tuesday (March 10) via Echo Park label Lolipop Records.

Speaking about the track, the band said: "'Someone Like You' - As the songs starts the pitch bent messed up synth sound grabs your attention. A dreamy synth come in right after and takes you to a spatial world, a different universe. Inspired by more industrial, Krautrock, space electronics concepts, this track is very upbeat and attention grabbing. It makes you want to move and at least your bob. This song was one of the first ones we worked on. Samira (Samira Winter, the band's Brazilian/American singer) was initially inspired by the song, “Today is the Day”, by Yo La Tengo when writing the tune. However, Eley envisioned this track to be more pop and upbeat and wanted to add exciting synth sounds. So the track became a mix of both worlds - electronic and rock- with a Real Estate sort of ending."

About the single, co-vocalist/guitarist Bryan Shortell, says: "‘Cops Come' is one of those songs that we've always wanted to write. We love British rock, big hooks, and Stevie Ray style guitar solos. This song has a bit of all of that in there, but I think it still sounds very ‘right now’ – it still has a modern feel. 'Guitar' is kind of a dirty word in the alternative world right now, and we want to try and change that. Consider this song our battle cry."
