New Entry: The KVB Cover The Beatles "Taxman"

Another excellent cover from the upcoming album 'The Magical Mystery Psych-Out - A Tribute To The Beatles', has surfaced today, first was The Vacant Lots cover version of "Julia", and now is the turn of the UK psychedelic/shoegaze duo The KVB, and their take of "Taxman".

Watch: Best Friends Drop Music Video For New Track "Fake Spit"

Sheffield basement pop band Best Friends have dropped the video for their new track "Fake Spit".

The song takes influence from 1987's rom-com fantasy ‘Mannequin’ to ponder the old age question "If ignorance is bliss, is knowledge pain?", and will be available soon on 7" single. 

It is taken from their forthcoming debut album, 'Hot. Reckless. Totally Insane.', which will be out in May through  FatCat Records.

The video sees the band burst into life and use up all their pent up energy before deciding that they were better off living as mannequins. It's like Socrates once famously said "I would rather be a sad philosopher than a happy mannequin" – what a towel bouncer!

It was Directed by band member Ed Crisp, who also directed the previous clips for "Shred Til You're Dead" and "Happy Anniversary".

The November Five Announce New Single "A Little Knowledge" and Live Dates

Rock'n'roll dynamos The November Five have announced they will released their brand new single "A Little Knowledge" on March 9th by Montauk Industries.

This is the band's first new release since their explosive and critically acclaimed debut album, 'If You're Satisfied You Are Dead'.

The track is backed with "Hot Cell", and will be available for download via iTunes, Amazon and other digital retailers. Both tracks have been added to our current playlist.

Wolf Alice Announce Debut Album 'My Love Is Cool', Air New Track "Giant Peach"

London indie rock four-piece Wolf Alice have announced that they are set to release their debut full-length 'My Love Is Cool'.

The band's debut album will be out on June 23rd via Dirty Hit/ RCA, and will be their first release since 2014's 'Creature Songs' EP. Pre-order it here.

About the record, singer Ellie Rowsell, said: "It's 100 percent not a grunge record. It's a much braver record than that. There's a mix of genres on it. We're using our instruments in different ways, like Joff [Oddie] using his guitar as a synth."

The band have also aired their new explosive single "Giant Peach", and according to Ellie, "the track is about growing up in London, so the title could also maybe be an across-the-pond version of New York City's "Big Apple" nickname. It's about a love affair with the city, it's a song to dance to, but also a song to lose your shit to."

Seoul Confirm Debut Album 'I Become A Shade', Air New Single "The Line"

Montreal ambient-pop trio Seoul (formerly known as Cherry Chapstick), have confirmed they will release their long-awaited debut album 'I Become A Shade' on June 9 through Grand Jury Music. 

The album features 12 tracks, including the previously unveiled singles "Stay With Me" and "White Morning". 

About the record, the band said: "We put our whole selves into this piece and are incredibly excited for it to finally pirouette full of rain and devotion into your hands and hearts. The first run of 12" records will be printed on ultra clear vinyl, and the packaging featuring the art of Christopher Honeywell is truly beautiful!"

Blur Confirm New Album ‘The Magic Whip’, Unveil New Single "Go Out"

Blur have confirmed that we will be releasing their eight studio album, 'The Magic Whip' on April 27th, their first new album in twelve years, 

Damon Albarn said that the follow-up to 2003's Think Tank was a return to "the way we recorded when we started. It wasn't a flash studio, it was pretty claustrophobic and hot. We went in and knocked about loads of ideas."

The band made their announcement at a hastily arranged press conference in a Chinese restaurant in London, hosted by Zane Lowe. Albarn admitted that the band had gone as far as they could go without returning to the studio: "I really felt at the end of the last gigs that that was it - there was no way we could do another gig without an another album."

It will be the first to feature the band's original line up of singer Damon Albarn, guitatist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree since 1999′s 13. Pre-order y our copy here.

New Entry: Le Volume Courbe Drop New Single "The House" (Feat. Kevin Shields)

French-born,  London-based musician Charlotte Marionneau's band Le Volume Courbe have dropped their new single "The House" featuring My Bloody Valentine frontman Kevin Shields.

The double A side single "The House / Monte Dans Mon Ambulance", mixed by John Parish (Eels, PJ Harvey), will be out next Monday (February 24) via Ring The Alarm. Pre-order it here.

Shield have already collaborated with Charlotte in her 2005's album 'I Killed My Best Friend.'

"The House" is a whimsically poetic song with toy gun sounds and soaring strings. Listen below.

Pompeya Announce New Album 'Real', Unveil New Single "Liar"

Moscow based electro pop band Pompeya have announced that they will release their new album 'Real' on May 5 via No Shame. 

For the follow-up to last year's Night EP, they have worked with Dave Hartley (The War On Drugs, Nightlands) and Nathaniel Noho (WALKING SHAPES).

As yet there are no more details about the new album, but we'll keep you posted.

New Entry: Surf Rock Is Dead Unveil New Single "Zen A"

Brooklyn based indie pop/surf rock duo Surf Rock Is Dead (aka Kevin Pariso and Joel Witenberg) have unveiled their new single "Zen A".

It is the duo's third single, it follows their also catchy debut single "Equinox" and the summery "Late Risers".

About the song, Pariso says: "With a darker approach to tone and harmonic vibe, the verbed filled layers and delays created a zened out feel that laid the foundation of the song. With Joel singing lead mostly on this track, we felt it immediately widened our sound...when we finished the ending it seemed hilariously huge and borderline inappropriate for the track."

Crocodiles Announce New Album 'Boys', Air New Single "Crybaby Demon"

San Diego indie rockers Crocodiles have announced that they will release their fifth studio album titled 'Boys' on April 28 via Zoo Music. 

For the follow-up to their 2013's album 'Crimes of Passion', the boys have worked in Mexico City with producer Martin Thulin.

According to the press, the album is "trashy in some places and beautiful in others, this colorful album sees the band revisiting familiar Crocodilian themes that have earned them worldwide acclaim while also cooking with many new flavors." Pre-order your copy here.

The band have also aired the album's first single "Crybaby Demon", which "offers a gaze into the salsa-punk existence the band lived while recording in Mexico City. It is the sound of helado and cervezas; bottles smashing against heads in Cuauhtémoc bat-caves." 

The flip side is a joyously noisy retelling of Hot Chocolate’s 1975 disco classic “U Sexy Thing” and adds to their ever growing collection of oddball influences. Get it here.

Brazilian indie pop band We Are Pirates have revealed their lovely b-side track "Runaway".

About the track, band member Ricardo Vieira told us: 

"This is a track we've made in 2014 and it's not part of our new EP that we're going to release in the next few months. It's a love song, about to runaway in a sunny day to wherever you wanna go. We recorded this one here at our home studio in Colatina - ES (Brazil)"
