Single of the Week May 18/13 - Kid Astray "Like You Care"

Our new Single Of The Week is "Like You Care" by Oslo indie-pop band Kid Astray.

This six-piece band first caught our attention last year with the released of their debut single "The Mess", which was wrote, recorded, mixed and mastered in only six hours.

They released their 5-track debut EP 'Easily Led Astray' in March via Brilliance Records. All the tracks credited to the brilliant songwriting and musicianship that lies within this talented bunch, and takes you on a journey through heavy 80's like synth landscapes, britpopy guitars and solid vocal harmonies.

"Like You Care" is another catchy cut taken from the EP, which you can get it now on iTunes. Stream the track below.

Watch: Jinja Safari Share "Plagiarist" Music Video

Sydney-based indie band Jinja Safari have shared the video for "Plagiarist", taken from their self-titled debut album out now via Island Records. The song is part of our current playlist www.koolrockradio.com

The self-titled record is a mixture of international flavours. Jinja Safari's frontman Marcus Azon and producer and collaborator Pepa Knight travelled across a range on continents, allowing themselves to be influenced by the sounds they heard in India, Cambodia, Indonesia, the UK, the US, Germany, Canada and Uganda, where town is located that inspired the band’s name.

"Because we're so heavily influenced by world music it was important for us to visit places, and reflect as much of that back into our music. All of those places were a really important part of creating this album. We wanted it to be authentic – not just an outsider’s perspective. There's a lot of stories here. said Azon."

The video was directed by Lawrence Lim. Watch it below.
