Foster The People Next Album Will Be 'More Evolved'

Foster The People frontman, Mark Foster, has revealed that his dance side-project will have an influence on the band's second album.

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the singer/songwriter revealed that his Simms and Belle work with bandmate Isom Innis is helping to shape the sound of the follow up to the band's critically acclaimed Torches, he also cited West African music, David Bowie and the Clash as influences.

"It's all in there. We make a really heavily electronic hip-hop track and explore that world, [and] it's floating around in my brain the next time I write a Foster track. One thing about Foster the People is that it's taking pieces of a lot of different genres of music and kind of melding them together," he said.

"In the first record, I was looking at my vision for the project through a piece of opaque glass. This next record's going to be more evolved; it's going to be a clearer picture of what I've had in my head when it comes to that vision. Working on this project and getting deeper into electronic music is gonna help bring a deeper color in the next Foster record."

"Innis makes stuff a lot more in the electronic realm. He'll build foundational stuff for Smims and Belle and we'll come together while I'm doing foundational stuff for Foster the People," he added.

Band on the Month July 2012 - SPLASHH

Splashh is a London four piece comprised by Toto Vivian, Sasha Carlson, Thomas Beal and Jacob More.

The band began life as the brainchild of Toto and Sasha forming in late February 2012.

The duo initially bonded over their mutual music tastes and then began plotting their sun drenched musical assault on the UK. Growing up between the South Pacific and the UK they left the beaches behind to record in a small bedroom in Hackney.

The result was a myriad of floating, fuzz laden grunge pop tunes with a punk twist. With a number of songs in the can the boys then recruited close friends Thomas Beal on bass and Jacob Moore on drums.

They released their debut single 'All I Wanna Do' on cassette through Jen Long's Kissability label on June 6, and are set to follow it up with brand new track 'Need It'.

'Need It' will be released digitally and on 7" vinyl through Luv Luv Luv Records on July 30th.

Kele Okereke: "I want another Bloc Party record"

Kele Okereke has denied rumours that the Bloc Party new album 'Four' will be their last.

Rumours started yesterday after Kele appeared to be unclear over the future of Bloc Party during an interview with Australian radio station Triple J.

After seeing how his words had been interpreted, Kele wrote a post on his blog stating that the future of the band depends on 'inspiration'.

Read the full statement below.

"I did an interview for triple JJJ in australia where I talked rather absentmindedly about the future of bloc party. I want to make it clear that I want another BP record as much as anyone, it really just depends on us being inspired together as a band."

"The reason we made FOUR was because it came so easily that it just made sense. we only finished this record a few months ago so right now we are all pretty much exhausted, we havent felt the need to start writing any new music. I know this will change once we go on tour, because this is how we have always felt after every record. you get inspired by what you see and hear on the road, its part of the process, so dont stress internet, I am sure that once we start touring we will start writing again and once we start writing there will be a record in some form I guarantee."
